Based on the latest briefing provided by the National Weather Service for our area regarding Tropical Storm Debby, Charlton County Schools will be closed Monday, August 5th and Tuesday, August 6th for all students and staff. The potential for tropical storm force winds as early as Monday morning and through Tuesday morning, as well as the potential for major flooding the next two days has led to this decision, as student safety is our top priority. We plan to have our first day of school for students on Wednesday, August 7th. If any further changes or cancellations are needed, we will provide updates via text messaging, our website, and Facebook.

Due to Charlton County High School competing in the State Championship Baseball game in Statesboro, school will be cancelled for all students and staff tomorrow, Monday May 20. Events scheduled during the school day Monday will be rescheduled for later this week. As you may be aware, there was a train derailment in Folkston earlier today. The railroad crossing at Martin Street is open, as well as the overpass. We don't anticipate any significant delays in students traveling home by bus, but please be aware that buses could be just a few minutes later than normal today due to traffic changes caused by the train derailment.

The Charlton County School District is hiring bus drivers. Benefits include a Retirement Plan and Health Insurance, along with system paid Dental and Life Insurance. Must be able to drive an AM and PM route requiring a commitment of approximately 3 hours per day.
