Here are some pictures from Mrs. Burnette's Chemistry class. Mrs. Burnette's class is the definition of an "Academically Challenging Environment" at CCHS.
"STOKED ABOUT STOICHIOMETRY!!"
Stoichiometry is a section of chemistry that involves the mathematical relationships between reactants and/or products in a chemical reaction to determine desired quantitative data. In Greek, stoikhein means element and metron means measure, so stoichiometry can literally be translated to mean "the measure of elements." One student described these problems as "dimensional analysis math problems on steroids!!" With the help of several bags of peppermint candies and the promise of Mrs. B's homemade apple pie, our chemistry students have not only been KILLING the basic level stoichiometry problems but they've also mastered Honors and college level problems as well!! Like we say in chemistry...."You don't have to like it, BUT you should get excited that you can DO IT!!"

CCHS would like to give a HUGE shoutout to Ms. Sandy McDonald and Mr. Anthony Jackson for their generous Prom Angel donations to two students at CCHS. They work hard to fundraise throughout the year in order to provide prom essentials for these lucky students. In doing so, they honor the memory of their late daughter Coco. This is the fourth year of the Prom Angel program. Through this program, the students selected receive a prom gift bag including gift cards for attire, grooming, and dinner. This award helps to ease some of the financial burden that arise during senior year. Congrats to this year's recipients: Malcolm Gordon and Parris Redmon.

Congratulations to our tennis teams and coaches. We will host the playoffs starting April 18. The boys are region champions and girls are region runner up.

Attention Seniors: The Herff Jones representative will be at CCHS Thursday (3-30-23) during all lunches to deliver cap and gowns and senior announcements.
