Makerspace in action at BMS

We have a full afternoon of events at BMS tomorrow, 2/10. Please join us for Parent-Teacher Conferences from 3 pm- 5 pm. During this time the bookfair will be open to parents and students. We will begin our Math, Science, and Social Studies Night Activities at 5 pm. Parents and students will have a chance to participate in standards based activities such as trivia games, scavenger hunts, bingo and more! We look forward to seeing you!

8th grade basketball players and cheerleaders were recognized on January 13th at the last home basketball game.

The BMS Title I Math Night, originally scheduled for 1/13 at 6 pm will be rescheduled on a later date due to scheduling conflicts. Thank you for understanding!

Reminder: Our Math Night will be held tomorrow night at 6 pm. Each grade level will participate in a grade level specific activity! Please join us by meeting in the media center at 6 pm.

One last reminder about our ELA Night at 6 pm tonight (December 2nd). Last school year we were not allowed to hold in-person events however, this year we are thrilled to be able to welcome students and their families back into our building. Please join us on Thursday December 2 at 6 pm for our ELA Curriculum Night. 4th grade students and parents should report to Mrs. Gowen's room on the 4th grade hallway. 5th grade students should report to Mrs. Passieu's room on the 5th grade hallway. 6th,7th, and 8th grade students should report to the cafeteria. Please join us in participating in a variety of ELA activities such as poetry writing and letter writing. We look forward to seeing you!

Please mark your calendar for our next parent involvement event on Thursday, December 2 at 6 pm. Parents and students will have the opportunity to participate in activities centered around our ELA standards and curriculum. We are excited to be able to welcome parents into our building once again by holding in-person curriculum nights. We hope you will make plans to attend!

Please join us on Thursday, November 4th at 6 pm for our GMAS/Technology Night. This will be held in the BMS Media Center. Parents and students will receive information regarding the GMAS and information on available technology resources.

NEW IMMUNIZATION REQUIREMENTS FOR ENTRY INTO 7TH GRADE ALL UPCOMING 7TH GRADERS MUST HAVE A Tdap(tetanus; diphtheria; pertussis) VACCINE and a MENINGICOCCAL CONJUGATE VACCINE IN ORDER TO ENTER THE 7TH GRADE. ANY STUDENT WITHOUT AN UPDATED IMMUNIZATION CERTIFICATE WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO ENTER THE 7TH GRADE. PLEASE FOLLOW-UP WITH THE CHARLTON COUNTY HEALTH DEPARTMENT (1-855-473-4374) OR YOUR PHYSICIAN CONCERNING THIS MATTER.

We were so pleased to announce yesterday that parents WILL be allowed to attend our award ceremonies. Our 2021 Awards Day Ceremonies will be at the following dates/times: 4th/5th Grade Awards Day -- Wednesday, May 19th at 8:30 am 6th/7th Grade Awards Day--Thursday, May 20th at 8:30 am 8th Grade Awards Day--Friday, May 21st at 8:30 am Please follow the guidelines below to ensure maximum safety: --Please do not attend if you have been exposed to someone with COVID-19 within the last 48 hours --Please make sure you make all efforts to social distance --If you are sick, please do not attend --All visitors will enter and exit through the gym entrance --Visitors will not be permitted to go back into the school to classrooms with students --If you wish to check your child out after the awards day ceremony there will be sign-out sheets available after the ceremony

Per permission from our District Office, we will allow parents to attend our Awards Day Ceremonies. Details will be forthcoming. Please remember that it is imperative that we make efforts to social distance during the event. Spectators/visitors are not allowed to go back to the classrooms with students or elsewhere in the school. Spectators/Visitors are only permitted to go to the gym for the assembly. You will enter and exit through the gym entrance only.

Parents will receive a link which will give detailed information on how to review a number of documents relating to school improvement and Title I budgeting. Once the information has been reviewed, parents will be asked to complete a survey. Please be on the lookout for this important information.
