Based on the condition of many of our dirt roads, especially in the south end of the county, and with guidance provided by the Charlton County Road Department and Emergency Management Agency, school will be cancelled for students on Wednesday, August 7th. Although there is no school for students, Wednesday August 7 will be a regular work day for teachers and staff. We will provide updates on when school will open for students on Wednesday after road conditions are assessed.

CCBOE: Based on the latest briefing provided by the National Weather Service for our area regarding Tropical Storm Debby, Charlton County Schools will be closed Monday, August 5th and Tuesday, August 6th for all students and staff. The potential for tropical storm force winds as early as Monday morning and through Tuesday morning, as well as the potential for major flooding the next two days has led to this decision, as student safety is our top priority. We plan to have our first day of school for students on Wednesday, August 7th. If any further changes or cancellations are needed, we will provide updates via text messaging, our website, and Facebook.

I am sure everyone has had a great summer up to this point. Now it is time to come back to school. I just resent an email about pre planning. The original went out on July 18th, so it is the same information.
